abraxa – the company

Founded in 2004, abraxa business network GmbH & Co. KG is a young, proprietor-led company that is still being built up; yet – or probably as a result – it carries out its work in an especially flexible and service-oriented manner. Our foci lie in the manufacture and sale of three-dimensional moulded parts made of highly compressed densified wood and coated with synthetic resin and melamine resin, chiefly for the seating industry all over the world.

We also specialise in marketing plywood moulded parts and all-wood components and products that originate in our partner production centres in Romania, Hungary, Serbia-Montenegro and Slovakia. Quality management in these partner companies is always carried out by our own qualified personnel.

In the s.c. abraxa international s.r.l. factory in Drobeta Turnu Severin (Romania), our 25 employees are currently producing 200,000 soliwood moulded parts per year from synthetic resin densified wood for about 80 different customers in Europe (mainly the Benelux countries, Germany and Switzerland) and overseas (mainly America and Asia).

Our speciality is the development and implementation of high-quality (both in terms of in technology and design) synthetic resin densified wood moulded parts for the furniture industry and various other areas of application. In this regard, we pay special attention to tailor-made solutions that are also economically attractive.

In 2005, we took over the entire synthetic resin densified wood moulded parts business from the OBO company in Stadthagen (Germany), including the factory, which was moved 3 years ago from Germany to Romania.

With the help of nine hydraulic high-pressure moulders, a multi-storey veneer ribbon dryer, 80 moulding press tools and all the other machines and equipment in the factory that are required to produce high-quality soliwood seat pans, backrests and seat plates, seating stools, snow shovels, etc., we have an annual capacity of more than half a million moulded parts.

The overall investment in the production location in Romania is nearly 1 million euros. The extremely thin rotary cut beech veneers that are required for production come from the best naturally sustained managed growing areas in Europe that can be found within 200 km of Drobeta Turnu Severin. The Romanian company is led by a German management board.
